Brian Kozumplik is an experienced Functional Safety Senior Systems Manager with concentrated skills in Parts 2 and 3 of the ISO 26262 Functional Safety standard, 2nd edition. He has written and conducted training for Functional Safety and Fault Tree Analysis. Brian has detailed experience working for a Tier 1 automotive supplier providing lateral motor control hardware and software.
Brian holds the AFSP (Automotive Functional Safety Professional) certificate thru TuV SAAR, and had managed a team of functional safety engineers for 5 years. Brian is also a member of SAE’s ISO 26262 standard working group committee reviewing latest developments in Functional Safety, including SOTIF (Safety of The Intended Function), and COSSA (Controls Oriented System Safety Analysis). Brian has a BSME from Michigan State University (1980) and has completed numerous Masters Courses in Statistics from Oakland University (1991/92). Brian has a passion to ensure products are safe, reliable, and are developed on time with quality for our customers ISO 26262 certification course will help you become a Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer (Functional Safety Expert). This five-day functional safety certification training covers all 12 parts of the ISO 26262 standard to give those attending the information necessary to understand the standard and move your organization toward conformance.
ISO 26262 is the Functional Safety standard that is applied to Safety Related Systems that include electric/electronic systems installed in production passenger vehicles, trucks & busses, and motorcycles. The course combines presentations with hands-on work and is conducted in English. There is an optional ISO 26262 Certification exam at the end of the class for those wanting to demonstrate and document their knowledge. This course combines presentations, along with in-class group exercises to put what you are learning into practice. Concepts are reinforced by a running case study of an air bag system. Forms are used to complete the exercises as a part of the integrated workshops that include Item Definition, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Safety Goals, ASIL levels, Functional Safety Concept, Technical Safety Concept,...
Training designed to support functional safety in automotive product design and development by covering the requirements of ISO 26262:2018. Software and hardware in electronic systems have become key differentiating factors in today’s automobile design and development. With the rising role of electronics in automobiles, functional safety has become an increasingly critical aspect of the overall product design and development. The standard ISO 26262 “Road Vehicles-Functional Safety” is a crucial compliance requirement in the automotive value chain. This comprehensive training covers the requirements of ISO 26262:2018. Exercises and examples are used within the training to show how the requirements and concepts of the standard are applied.
