Sres Launches Iso Sae 21434 Automotive Cybersecurity Training
SRES is now an authorized provider of the SGS-TÜV Saar Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Professional (CACSP) Training and Certificate Program—the industry’s gold standard for mastering ISO/SAE 21434:2021. This three-day, expert-led program is designed for engineers, managers, and technical leaders who need to embed cybersecurity into every stage of vehicle development—from concept to decommissioning—while meeting the requirements of ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155,... Gain a deep understanding of the automotive threat landscape and proven countermeasures Learn to perform and evaluate Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) Integrate cybersecurity into product development alongside functional safety The trend towards vehicle connectivity and automated vehicles as well as a rising number of complex automotive components have increased the risk of cyberattacks.
The development and safeguarding of safety-critical systems in automotive applications is an important part of development and operation. The ISO/SAE 21434 standard was developed to meet this challenge. It is the world's first international standard for cybersecurity in the automotive industry and its aim is to identify and reduce the risk of cyberattacks by embedding cybersecurity in automotive products. The standard specifies technical requirements for cybersecurity risk management. These cover the concept, product development, production, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of electrical and electronic (EE) systems in road vehicles whose development or modification started after the publication of the standard in 2021. This includes their components and interfaces.
The standard aims to help developers and users achieve an adequate level of security, so that potential hackers find it difficult to carry out attacks. In order for ISO/SAE 21434 to be effective, it is important to understand and interpret its content correctly. For this reason, our experts have developed a series of cybersecurity training modules. Together, they provide all the necessary knowledge and preparation for the challenges of project work. Gain a better understanding of the security processes required by ISO/SAE 21434 and how this standard affects automotive design and development. This three-day training is designed to help learners gain a better understanding of the security processes required by ISO/SAE 21434.
The training also looks at how the standard impacts the lifecycle of automotive components and systems and the larger automotive industry. Exercises and examples are used to help show how the requirements and standards are applied. Your registration was successful. A confirmation email will be sent to you. To register for this event, please agree to our privacy policies as well as our GTC and the processing of your data. He would also be the right contact for any further information or details. In case you are not sure, if the training is the right one for you, also contact the course provider. He can consult you and give according recommendations. Dr. Juan Pimentel is a consultant with Omnex, specializing in functional safety, cybersecurity, and systems engineering. Formerly a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kettering University, he conducted applied research, developed training on design innovation, and received the university’s Distinguished Researcher Award.
With expertise in IEC 61508, ISO 26262, SOTIF, and ISO/SAE 21434, he has contributed to projects involving battery management and process control systems and co-developed Profibus with Siemens and FlexCAN, a safety-critical architecture. An author and editor of multiple SAE International books on automated vehicle safety, Dr. Pimentel actively advances global standards through his work with IEEE, SAE, and ISO, while continuing to help organizations design safe, secure, and innovative systems. This five-day training covers all 14 clauses of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard to give those attending the information necessary to understand the standard and move your organization toward conformance. An overview of United Nations (UN) regulations WP.29, R155 & R156, as well as VDA ACMS (Automotive Cybersecurity Management System) will also be provided. ISO/SAE 21434 is the cybersecurity standard that is applied to cybersecurity-related systems that include electric/electronic, wired, and wireless communication systems installed in production passenger vehicles.
This course combines presentations with hands-on, in-class group exercises to put what you are learning into practice. Concepts are reinforced through a running case study of an airbag system as a part of the integrated workshops that include Item Definition, Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), Cybersecurity Goals, CAL levels, Cybersecurity... There is an optional ISO/SAE 21434 Certification exam at the end of the class for those wanting to demonstrate and document their knowledge. This course is intended for those involved in the design, development, and production of electrical and electronic based vehicle products, including the systems, software and hardware engineers, and managers. Basically, all those responsible for the development and implementation of hardware and software systems in motor vehicles would benefit. Participants should be or plan to be, actively managing, involved in, or aware of electrical and/or electronic items, systems, or elements that are incorporated in vehicles.
A security flaw is no longer “just a bug.” It can put your name on a liability report. As vehicles become smarter and more connected, cybersecurity decisions now carry immediate legal, financial, and reputational risk for engineers and managers. Following established cybersecurity standards—and applying proven best practices—is no longer optional. The cost of waiting is rising, and the margin for error is shrinking. With decades of hands-on security experience, Vector delivers practical guidance that truly matters. That’s why now is the time to register for our Automotive Cybersecurity Training.
This session is designed to help you confidently navigate ISO 21434 and implement cybersecurity that works in the real world—before gaps become findings and findings become consequences. Seats are limited, so we encourage you to register today. Vector is the market leader with the largest cybersecurity portfolio, from AUTOSAR base software to security and test tools and services.
