The Bachelor's degree is the first academic degree and the first professional qualification awarded by a higher education institution. Our Bachelor's degree programmes extend over six semesters (three years) and conclude with a Bachelor of Science qualification (B. Sc.). A consecutive Master's programme follows on from a Bachelor's programme and ends at our faculty with the academic degree Master of Science (M.

Sc.) as a university degree that further qualifies you professionally. Our Master's degree programmes extend over four semesters (two years). A postgraduate Master's degree requires a Bachelor's degree and vocational experience. It is completed at our faculty with the academic degree Master of Science (M. Sc.) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) and extends over four semesters (two years). A teacher training programme qualifies students to enter the teaching profession and lasts ten semesters (five years).

It concludes with the first state examination. We are pleased that you are interested in studying natural sciences at our faculty. Pick from more than ten courses in biochemistry, biology and psychology. In all three disciplines, you can graduate with a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science, and in Biology also with a state examination for school teaching. You love natural science and enjoy looking at the wider picture of things? Biochemistry is by nature interlinked with a number of related disciplines such as biology, chemistry and physics.

In addition to the classical training content, the program also offers modules in special research fields. These include, for example, environmental microbiology, drug discovery, functional neurochemistry, neural physiology, RNA biochemistry, molecular anthropology and medical physics. In Bachelor’s degree programs, you have the opportunity to take modules from other degree programs in addition to your core subject either in the free elective area or in a fixed elective subject.
